4/14/11 - Lake Cochituate

I was eager to get back to Cochituate tonight. Another pleasant evening. But when I got to the shore spot I wanted, it was occupied with few peeps worm and bobber fishing and not catching much. So reluctantly I moved on and try a different spot. Pitched the jig to a piece of lay down that couldnt have been more than 3 to 4 feet of water, and bump, bump, set the hook and land a beauty of a Largemouth @ 20in 4lbs 5oz(1oz bigger than the one from Tuesday, and New Personal Best from Cochituate) . About 10 minutes later I got my last of the night that was a fine Largemouth as well @ 19-1/2in 4lbs 1oz. Good fight in in both Bass! Cochituate has been on fire early on for sure. Finishing up the evening having 2 Beauties for 8lbs 6oz has a big smile on my face!

  • This is incredible. I just got my first largemouth (14") near this area recently. Good job man!

  • It was my first time there as well. Just moved to Boston a few months back. I walked the right side of the boat ramp all the way past the AMVETS building, fished whereever I could. Then I fished the pond on the backside of the main lake, much better shore access over there, still didn't get anything.

  • It was my first time there, didn't really know where to go. I went to the left of the big boat launch, then tried to walk around to the right of it, but walking into the wind only frustrated me, so we ended up leaving. If you head back there again maybe we could meet up and you could show me where to go there

  • I was also there on 4/16/11, wind was brutal and I also caught squat over 3 hours. One bite and nothing to show for it. A guy in one of the coves pulled out five nice rainbows from shore.

  • I was there yesterday (4/16/11) and the wind was brutal, nothing was biting, very frustrating. Nice fish though!

  • this is what i like to see

  • Nice fish for spring dude!

  • Kid is on fire!!! Good work partner.
